MARquette RIDES
Technically known as the Noquemanon Trail Network, locals just call them the South and North Trails. You've got waterfalls, killer views, and a mix of features - some gnarly tech sections, and lots of fast-flowing singletrack. If you add in the rugged Harlow Lake area, plus the hand-built RAMBA Trails over in Ishpeming, you've got 150+ miles of connected singletrack, linked by the Iron Ore Heritage Trail and city paths. And if that's not enough, Marquette Mountain Resort Downhill Bike Park has lift served and plenty of freeride lines.
Each route is crafted to skill level, duration, noted features (like berms, roots, rock gardens), it also includes: bail out points and stuff to watch out for. GPX route mapping, voice navigation and turn-by-turn direction will keep you riding with less time looking at the map. [More detailed ride descriptions and routes in the app]

MARQUETTE COFFEE
📍BabyCakes The muffins and burritos are so good! They are huge, made fresh dail, and go with any coffee. Making them great pre-ride fuel or post-ride reward. Or both! Babycakes is Marquette must do, you will be happy you did. Plenty of gluten free options too!
📍3rd Street Bagel 3rd Street Bagel is my go-to breakfast or lunch stop. (When I'm not at Babycakes!) These are more like a breakfast bagel sandwich. I'm partial to the asiago, bacon, egg, and cheese bagel with any kind of coffee - you will be good to go. Also, a good stop post-ride for turkey club bagel, grilled chicken bagel, or asado bagel sandwich with a smoothie, of course - you get the idea.

FOOD & BREWS
📍Lawry's Pasty Shop This is an absolute Marquette classic. Pasties are a UP tradition - flaky crust stuff with meat, potatoes, onions, and rutabaga or vegtables. Lawry's nails it. I usually go with the garden pasty. It's simple and hearty that feels like a piece of UP history in your hands. There is always the debate on whether to go with gravy, ketchup, or just eat it plain. Local tip: If you fall in love with Lawry's Pasty, don't worry they will ship them to you! 📍Blackrocks Brewery This is the brewery everyone talks about - and for good reason. They have plenty of options and there's always a rotating lineup of seasonal brews. The vibe is pure UP - they are big part of the mountain bike scene - donating to trail maintenance and sponsoring several bike events. Food is covered by a rotating schedule of food trucks: Dia Del Tacos, DaH Pretzel Guys, and Burger Bus parked out back. You don't want to miss this place.

MArquette PLACES to STAY
📍 Where you stay really depends on what kind of trip you want. Marquette has plenty of options, from boutique hotels and AirBnBs, to budget friendly hotels and three campgrounds with RV, tent spots for camping or vanlife. If food, brews, and coffee are your priorities, stick close to 3rd Street (near Northern Michigan University) or West Washington Street by the lake - that's where most of the action is. The beauty of Marquette is that you can ride to both the North and South Trails right from town. The bike paths connect everything, so you can ride to the trailhead in 10-15 minutes. I always think of it as part of the warm-up. If you want to save your money for post-ride burritos and brews, then checkout the hotels just ouside downtown on highway 41 or the campgrounds. They are an easy 5-10 minute drive to downtown and the trailheads, so you'll save a few bucks without giving up convenience. Local Tip: Prices shift with the season and can book up fast with local events - it's worth checking the Marquette event calendar when planning your trip.
