Epic rides are more than just rides — they’re connections between people and places. A ride becomes epic when the trails, the views, the food, the drinks, and the friends all come together to create something unforgettable.

 

That’s why I started Local Rides Only — to help riders experience that same connection to place. Each trip is designed by local riders who know every climb, turn, coffee stop, brewery, and hidden gem. It’s like having a local friend show you around — one who knows all the best lines and post-ride hangouts. And encourage more riders to support the trails they ride.

I see it all the time. There is a rider at a trail intersection with their phone out, studying trailforks. They are here for the weekend or just few days and they trying to figure out what to ride based on what they have seen on YouTube and read on Trailforks. Burning valuable ride time navigating and guessing at trail choice.

I believe there is a better way, to have more fun, and really connect with a destination. Knowing the route is designed by a local, to cover the best trails, in the best order, feels awesome.  Then to take it up a notch, after the ride, giving you recommendations on a great places to eat and get  a beer can make it an epic ride.

I have been that rider. And it is not as fun.

AND I have also had the good fortune of riding with local and that is WAY more fun.

I’m building a way for more riders everywhere to connect more deeply with the places they ride — through the shared experience of a local.

And because these places matter, every trip gives back to the trail crews and communities that keep them alive. Because every great trail deserves to be ridden and supported.
